We started at 8 this morning.
We started at 8 this morning.
The Ct. Wagon Pole horse jumped the front wiffletree
they got him straight fast. They are still
at the end of the train.(the State Wagon should be 2nd behind the
Penn Wagon) They are still trying to drive with a 4 up and this is very difficult because of the slow speed,we are mostly traveling at a walk.
This morning a red wagon was
with us and later a yellow & black Talley Ho and a buckboard came with
us. The +Moodus " people are now traveling with us across the state.
We stopped at the Marlbourgh Tavern
& they gave us cake & soda.
(Also in Colchester they gave us
coffee, cookies, & a town seal coin.)

After we left Marlborough we had a “big hill” to go down. They (not sure who) brought us big truck tires to weigh down the wagons going down hill. Someone tied the tires to the back of all the wagons. We didn’t even need to use our brakes. The tires were tied behind each wagon so they would drag on the ground and slow the wagon down.

When we came to East
Hampton they gave all the Official Wagons a bell. They say that many of the bells in the
country are made here. (There is a hot air balloon
going up now.) 7:55 pm
