We went about 13 miles & we were in before 1 PM.
(When we should have been— much
to the surprise of Conn
people- )
After we got to Lebanon we were finally
registered & we registered Ranny Tuchon
as our outrider. "Official Wagons" are allowed two out-riders. Pat LeClerc who is the RI Wagonmaster will also be one ,so we will have two.Lee is registered as the RI Teamster and I am the Ast. RI Teamster.
After arriving in Lebanon Lee & Tom
went home and got our truck & trailer.
We all signed books ( Wagon Train Programs) most of the night (Todd too)Todd was our little 6 yr old "Mascot" who was coming along with the RI Contingent. ( Todd's Mom ,Sandy Smith was the Ast. Cook for the RI Contingent)*
Later we were introduced to the weekly “gripe
session" where the "Official" people were able to discuss the good and bad logistics and happenings along the route and voice our concerns to Roger Morse, the Maine Train Wagon Master.
*The "RI Contingent was a group of people who traveled to Valley Forge with us.
As they were not part of the "Official Wagons" they did not get meals or feed for their horses. So the State of RI ,Dept of Natural Resources, sent along Bob Silva with hay and the RI Federation of Riding Clubs also helped out. Following along at different times were : Heidi Richmond,Dawn Tuchon, daughter Leah,5 and son Curt, 4mo, Hammy Whitelaw, Carol Tacy, Ann Stone, Al Stone, Darlene Reynolds,Pat Reynolds,Sandy Smith, son Todd age 6 and Gary French.
