Journal Entry Tuesday June 1  16 miles
 at Whippoorwill Hill Family Campground,Foster,RI

Started out on a very rocky narrow trail leading from the camp-ground.  Flags were catching in the trees some of the horses got spooked so we had to stop and take the flags down so no one would get dumped. Most of the horses were not used to seeing large wagons with lots of canvas flapping .
Around noon James Witingley Jr. from Warwick gave us a small flag. He said it was an "un-official" RI  Bicentennial Flag.
L-R Sheila on Breezy,Cathy on KK ,Lee driving Thunder & G,  Pat Howard,Tom Koczkodan on rt walking

Later  Cathy(my sister, Cathy Grady) got dumped (bucked off)at the lunch stop and we had to spend about 10 minutes looking for my glasses in the grass. They fell off while I was trying to help her.

The roads were beautiful today.

We made Pine Top Hill no problem.  The others were “slow” it is a long gradual hill but our horses have been doing it and we were only two miles from home and they knew it !!.  As we hit Escoheag the rain came.  There were four bands and the Wagon Train Show scheduled for the night  K Bradford- Eddy Zack & none could play because of the rain.  A large crowd was there even so.
