Journal Entry : Sunday, June 20,1976, Day 21,  Flemington Fairgrounds, Flemington,NJ....14mi

Headed out to the fairgrounds with all the wagons and had a very hot muggy 14 miles that was very hard on the larger draft horses. The days are getting hotter here in NJ.

We got in around noon but did not eat. We (Lee, Tom & me) were able to go out to eat at the Circle Diner around 3 pm and got stuffed.

All the wagons are in a circle in front of the reviewing stand , so we are part of the show tonight !

Later we tried to get some sleep and just as I dozed off some really obnoxious man came and tickled my feet and woke me up. Then he remarked to his wife "Look Honey... there are real people in the wagons" ! (I was laying in the wagon with the back gate open and I guess he thought my feet were fair game. )

Roger Morse,Wagonmaster   Heidi Richmond and Candy Poutre ,Outriders for Penn Wagon are from RI

We will leave at 6:30 in the morn and someone will have to come and wake us up at 5 because we are far away from the picket line almost ½ mile. ( The"picket line was the area where the outriders ,horses and trucks were.)  We are going to try to get an early start now because the days are getting hotter.
